Great Winter Season Warriors!
Girls Basketball
The girls basketball team had a very good season compiling a record of 9 wins and 2 loses, including a trip to the Red Clay semifinals at Goldy Beacom College. Coaches and administrators would like to thank players and families for their support and dedication to the school and to their teammates. We wish the 8th graders moving to high schools in the fall tremendous success in the sport.
Wrestling
The Warriors went undefeated and dominated the district tournament, sending 13 finalists to the mats and coming home with 10 district champions.
Wrestling 1st place: C. Alaburda, P. Alexander, K. Carter, Ja. Hudson, Jo. Hudson, J. Hurst, D. Kinderman, J. Swarter, C. Terranova, L. Tran
Special recognition goes to Ja. Hudson and K. Carter, who each picked up their 3rd district title—an amazing accomplishment. Ja. Hudson wrapped up his HB wrestling career in legendary fashion as an undefeated, 3-time district champion and state champion.
Congratulations on earning the District Championship!
Boys Basketball
Boys battled for four quarters but came up a little short in their semifinal game last night. Coaches want to congratulate all of the players on a successful season, as well as thank the staff and cheerleaders for their support.
Cheerleading
Special shout out to HB’s amazing cheer squad this winter. They learned an entirely new (and awesome) halftime routine for the playoffs. They added more stunts than most years. They shifted to being in the stands to being in the corners of our gym, which helped their fan engagement. I’m so proud of our squad, as they perform at a high school level. Thank you coaches and cheerleader for an amazing season. We will need to collect your uniforms soon, but I’ll wait for details from coaches.
