Good Afternoon HB Warrior Families,
 

It's time to kick off our school year "Together!"

Our HB Staff is so excited to meet our incoming 6th graders tomorrow, Monday and to welcome all of our returning and new 7th and 8th grade students on Tuesday. 

First Student Days: Please remember your child's first day.

Monday, August 28, 2023 - 6th grade only

Tuesday, August 29, 2023 - all grades report (gr 6-8)

6th Grade First Day (Monday, Aug 25):  All 6th graders will be greeted by friendly and helpful HB staff upon entering the building.  Students will be directed to their Period 2 classes to start the day.   Students can expect to remain with their period 2 teachers for a good chunk of time in the morning, where we will help orient them to their new building.  They will get a chance to find their lockers, move between classes, learn our cafeteria location and procedures as they get lunch, and they will get to meet their exploratory teachers.  We will get push-in help from 7th and 8th grade staff throughout the day, as needed.  Our goal is to make this a great first day for everyone.   

Please remember that there is No School for students or teachers on Friday, August 29 and school will resume after the Labor Day Holiday, on Tuesday, September 2.

Car Line:  Just a reminder in regards to the procedure HB du Pont uses in regards to car line. 

HB will continue to follow last year’s plan we developed to keep traffic off Meeting House Road. Please make sure any aunts, uncles, or grandparents who pick up your child are aware of our plan. Directions – Drive by the football and soccer field, and complete a “U turn” at the cones. Then please wait in line until your child gets in the car.  Here is a diagram that shows the car rider line path.

District Transportation Update: We sincerely apologize for the delays some families are experiencing in receiving bus route information as we transition to Infinite Campus, Delaware’s new student information system.

If you have not yet received your child’s bus schedule, please use the Where’s the Bus App for the most accurate, real-time updates: https://www.redclayschools.com/departments/transportation-services/wheres-the-bus 

It takes up to 48 hours for routes and requested changes entered in our system to flow back to the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, so recently updated routes won’t be visible in the new parent portal.  However, our recent changes should be visible in the Where’s the Bus App before the parent portal, which is why we are directing families to review and follow information in the app.  If you have additional questions or need assistance, please contact our Transportation Office at (302) 322-0251.

Breakfast and Lunch is free for all students districtwide this year, including at HB.  Students will need to enter their student ID number or scan their student ID badge on buses and in the cafeteria all year.
